Tang Soo Flat!

Right now I am in Pontiac testing for my next belt rank in karate.  I only have two more belt ranks before I reach Black Belt.  This testing was Mass Testing.  It was a Guinness Record Breaking event for the most people tested at one time.  Every Black Belt, Red Belt, Green,Yellow,Orange, and White Belt was there.  It was broadcasted on tv and in the newspaper.  It was that big of an event.  I felt super nervous because when it was all over, I thought I might not be able to find my parents and brother.....there were THAT many people!

Flat Goes to the Lugnuts Game

Stan is sitting on my lap but you can't see him.  We are watching the Lansing Lugnuts versus the Bowling Green Hotrods.  It was my first time going to a real baseball game.  I found a baseball on the ground that they lost.  Luckily the Lugnuts won by I believe four runs.  The game was really long.  During the game we got Dippin' Dots and free food.  We all got to play on this hill.  There were other kids there that wanted my ball.

Flat Goes to Cedar Point

Me, my brother, my cousin JD, and Flat (who's hiding) are at Cedar Point.  They just got off the Mean Streak and they wanted to throw up....I didn't want to go on it because I was already sick from the Corkscrew.  The Corkscrew does a full loop dee loop and with eyes open and I didn't like it!

They didn't have one small enough for Flat.  We were getting in trouble for running off, so Uncle Rob locked us up.    He threatened to leave us there forever.  Luckily he didn't.

I got this slime at an arcade.  Flat said he didn't want to go anywhere near it cause it'll get stuck to his brand new shirt.

Flat Goes Drag Racing

This is a picture of me and Stan in my Grandfather's race car.    The fun thing about racing is looking at all the weird looking cars and some cool looking cars.  My Grandfather has been racing since he was a teenager.  He has had lots of different race cars.  Stan didn't enjoy all of the super loud noises. 

This is my Dad racing in his newly made car.  It took him two years to build this car and it's not done yet.  He never knows if it might blow up on him!

Flat Goes to Grand Haven

This is  pictures of me and my buddies Will and Andrew.  Behind me in this picture is a BIG, BIG, boat....I don't know why I keep saying BIG....Me Will and Andrew were having the most fun when we were laying down in the waves and letting them hit us.  I made a sand castle that had the biggest wall I thought I could ever make and it took a lot for the waves to knock it down.We went out on the pier, went to Culver's for ice cream, and got home really late.

Flat Goes to the Beach

We are at my Grandma Laurie's beach at Canadian Lakes.  This is me trying to make sand castle and my sister trying to just pile it all up.  The funnest thing about going on the boat is TUBING!  I thought Stan should NOT go on the tube cause he doesn't have his own bathing suit.  This trick is called "Fire Power".  Me and my brother have learned that you can only let go for a few minutes without hitting a wave and falling off. 

Flat Celebrates the 4th of July

It's the 4th of July!!  These are fireworks that my Dad and my Uncle Rob did in our backyard.  These were best they have done in past few years.  We also get to do sparklers.  The funniest thing was that Will could put so many fire crackers in one hand that it looked like he was holding up flames.  My firework was one of them that blew up...literally blew up.  It was cool because a whole lot of light appeared that I do not think was supposed to happen.  We had so many left over marshmallows I started sneaking them so my mom didn't know....but she knows now.....

Fun with Flat and Legos

This is a picture of me and a paper cut-out of Flat Stanley that my teacher Mrs. C gave me. He and I are at the Williamston library at the Lego class. The Lego thing that is holding him up is the one I made. I call it the "Flying motor cycle/bulldozer". Long story about the bulldozer but the flying part is different. It doesn't have any wings, just a propeller.  It can pretty much only go one direction while its flying.  ~James

Flat Goes to Impression 5

This is a picture of my brother, sister, my friend Andrew, and my brother's friend.  Me and the gang were at I5.  I was excited to spend some time with Andrew because he lives quite a ways away and I don't get to see him a lot.  He is such a good friend because we have been friends since preschool.  He really likes I5 too.

Flat Meets My Pets

These are my two pets, Abby and Tucker.  Flat thinks that Tucker slobbers a lot and Abby has two very small ears.  In this picture Tucker was biting Abby's tongue for some reason.  Abby is the oldest and Tucker is the youngest, but Tucker can take her down. 

This is my brother's pet frog Swimmy and toad Jumpy.  Swimmy is a Michigan Green Frog.  We got him from my brother's friend's backyard.  They had to put Swimmy in a box because they were collecting them.  We call him Swimmy because he likes to stay in the water.  Jumpy is a Fowler Toad. They eat crickets.  Jumpy likes to hide under a log and Swimmy jumps on top of the log.

Flat Goes to the Hamburg Fun Festival

This picture is at the top of the Ferris Wheel at the Hamburg Fun Festival near where my grandparents live.  I didn't take this picture because I really don't like Ferris Wheels.

I'm getting my arm bitten off by a shark.  Flat was screaming his head off.  That would explain why I am missing an arm.  Just kidding...it was an exhibit about sharks and a shark show, but a lot of the sharks were sleeping.

Bubbles! (Flat Goes to the Library)

We went to the Williamston Library to watch this man is apparently called "The Bubble Maker". One picture he made a star inside a bubble.  In the other picture he was trying to make an ice cream cone.
The coolest thing about it is that he could make bubble do weird things.  He made one of them into a spiral.  Flat had a good time.

Flat Goes Rock Hunting

We went to the Mining Company in Williamston across from Twister's.   The big rock that we are leaning on is a big rose quartz from Brazil.  I bought two Brazilian emeralds.  They lady there was nice and gave my sister an agate heart.

Ice cream at Twister's and I'm sure why we have this picture here  but I know I like ice cream.

In this picture we are digging for rocks and stuff in our back yard while Abby is making holes.  For some reason we had gardening tools and a hammer.  This was fun because in the picture below, I am holding a yellow quartz crystal that my brother found.  Remember that whenever you go rock hunting that you have gloves because you get really dirty and that you have a pick ax to break open the rocks so you can find stuff.

Flat Goes to Harris Nature Center

Flat and I went to the Harris Nature (with my brother and sister with the broken hand).  In the top right picture, my mom calls this "We're off to the Wizard of Oz."  The other pictures are of nature.  The top left one is fungi, I believe.  The bottom left is a dragonfly.  The bottom right is these purple flowers that the Nature Center told my mom is actually an invasive species called Dames Rocket and it's in the Garlic Mustard family.  Flat complained about the bugs.
